Dungeon Chess
Description
Dungeon Chess mixes the movement rules of chess with the risk and variety of a roguelike dungeon crawl. Your hero acts like a single chess piece on a small dungeon board, but you do not choose its moves freely. Instead, you play cards, and each card tells your hero to move the way a particular chess figure would. That card system is what makes every turn a little puzzle. You have to look at the cards in hand, picture where each one would take you, and pick the move that sets up an attack or keeps you out of reach. The enemies sharing the board are not passive either; they bring their own sneaky abilities, so outthinking them matters more than charging ahead. Runs are compact, which makes it easy to play one session in a short break, yet the decisions stay surprisingly deep. If you already know how knights, bishops and rooks move, you will feel at home quickly, and if not, the game is a fun way to learn. Runs entirely in your browser; no account needed.

How to play
- 1Start a run from the main menu.
- 2Pick one of your cards; each shows a chess figure and lets your hero move like that piece.
- 3Click or tap the square you want to move to.
- 4Use your moves to defeat enemies on the board while staying clear of their attacks.
Tips
- Before playing a card, check which squares the enemies can reach next turn so you do not end up in danger.
- Save flexible cards for tight spots and use the simpler ones when the path is clear.
- Learn what each enemy ability does, because many of them punish careless positioning.
